IBM Power Autonomous Operations and the new Power11 S1112

An AI agent that watches your Power systems and resolves capacity problems with your approval, a compact one-socket Power11 server for AI on premises, and an AI assistant for IBM i developers.

IBM has announced new software and a new server for IBM Power, aimed at less manual operations work and AI closer to your data.

IBM Power Autonomous Operations

An AI agent continuously monitors your Power systems and resolves issues on its own, with a person approving the remedial actions. In IBM’s internal tests on eleven Power systems, it resolved capacity constraints up to 15 times faster than manual work: about 3 minutes instead of almost 53. General availability is planned for 23 September 2026.

For your team this means fewer late-night capacity alerts handled by hand, and more time for work that needs people.

IBM Power S1112

The S1112 is a one-socket Power11 server for compact deployment on premises. It runs AI workloads locally, using the Matrix Math Acceleration built into the Power11 chip for faster inferencing, which suits sites where data has to stay close to where it is created. It has been available since 24 July 2026.

IBM Bob Premium Package for i

An AI development assistant for IBM i that supports the whole development life cycle. IBM’s aim is to let a broader range of engineers develop and modernise IBM i applications, which helps where IBM i skills are scarce. It has been available since 24 June 2026.
