IBM Cognos Analytics aka Cognos 11

In the end of 2015 The new version of IBM Cognos was released. The main directions IBM develop their main Business Intelligence solution are as follows:

- Users have the option to self-load data and create their own dashboard and analysis.

- Improved user interface that unifies the way to work through a web browser and a mobile device.

- Automatic selection of the most appropriate presentation of analyzed data.

- Share reports, dashboard and data models that provide rapid creation of new ones, using ready-made components.

- Integration with Watson Analytics.

With the announcement of Cognos Analytics IBM now offers its platform installed on the client infrastructure as well as a cloud service. A trial period is available, which allows anyone to freely test the platform.

Pricing

There is a little difference in user types and their licensing. The standard business user license, which allows the user to create reports in the system, is around 1300 Euro.

An important detail is the introduction of a license for unlimited users of reports and dashboards license, with processors licensing. Thus the organizations provide access to their Business Analytics solution to all their potential employees, partners and clients, without a further budget burden.

Training

Already there is Cognos 11 training for administrators: IBM Cognos Analytics – Enterprise Administration (v11.0).

10.2.x version training for application developers are applicable for 11.0 as well.
