BECIS is one of the most complex systems in the Bulgarian National Customs Agency. It unifies about 30 modules, many electronic registers, around 50 digital services for economic operators, control and monitoring of the warehouses, the movement of excise goods under the excise duty suspension arrangement, audit and control functions, risk management and intelligence functions.
IBS was selected as vendor for this system in 2012. To meet the tough project time frame we have set a team of more than hundred professionals - subject matter experts, business analysts, software architects and developers.
The system is in production from July 2013. (first services were introduced in April 2013).
IBS has a contract to develop further and support the system until July 2017.
The project was not only to develop the software solution, but also to provision the entire IT infrastructure for it - To build a fully operational private cloud for excise duties systems in National Customs Agency.
