Since 2013 The Basel Committee’s BCBS 239 - Principles for effective risk data aggregation and risk reporting were introduced for the financial industry.

Despite all this supervisory scrutiny, the ECB has concluded that the progress made by significant institutions to date has been generally insufficient.

Despite its importance, RDARR has not been given an appropriate level of focus, has not been properly steered and many structural deficiencies relating to it have not yet been tackled. As a result, adequate RDARR capabilities are still the exception and full adherence to the BCBS 239 principles has yet to be achieved.
