The $34 billion acquisition of Red Hat by IBM is without a doubt the biggest news in the tech world for 2019. In light of the overall transformation to cloud technologies, the combined efforts of the two companies place them as leading technology providers and visionaries for the future of IT.
Red Hat has just announced the updated version of Openshift 4.2. The most popular container management platform now also supports hybrid cloud architectures.
IBM, in turn, completely embraces Red Hat OpenShift. The company recently announced that it will use OpenShift as the primary container environment for all of its hybrid cloud offerings, including IBM Cloud Paks: Five enterprise-grade solutions based on OpenShift and a combination of IBM and Red Hat containerized applications and services such as application modernization; data management, and analytics; process automation and RPA; enterprise messaging and integration; multi-cloud management.
