IBM announced new flash storage solutions

On 27th April IBM announced new additions to its Flash storage portfolio - IBM Flash System.

The two new models - Flash System A9000 and A9000R are based on IBM FlashCore technology that provides unmatched performance (over 1 million IOPS) in latency less than 1 millisecond (Micro Latency). The new Storages have Software Defined Storage management interface based on IBM Spectrum Accelerate (XIV). Its management enables the integration of multiple storages into a single GRID architecture. The migration of data between modules is performed using IBM Hyper-Scale Manager uninterrupted work. The software features of the new models provide:

- De-duplication of data in real time;

- Hardware-assisted data compression in real time;

- Snapshot and Thin provisioning;

- Synchronous and asynchronous replication;

- Quality of Service;

- Data Encryption.
